What is Ossa?

If you’re new to our website, Ossa [pronounced Ah-sah], was previously known as Like A Boss Girls — a women’s empowerment network with advice, information and resources for living your best life.

Ossa is the next iteration of our empowerment mission. Picking up where Like A Boss Girls left off, Ossa will continue to provide a platform that facilitates increased representation for women in positions of power and influence. What sets Ossa apart is the addition of a new extension for empowerment: podcasting.

In addition to the fabulous content on our existing platform and social media channels, we have added an in-house podcast network that gives our community another channel for amplification.

For podcasters, Ossa offers a user-friendly way to earn money from your podcast by becoming part of our ad booking platform. We also connect our members to a community of women in podcasting and offer exclusive access to tools and resources that will help you take your podcast to the next level.

For business owners, Ossa provides a personalized connection to the world’s most powerful consumers. As a woman-focused ad booking platform, we can help your business make a meaningful connection with your target audience.

For the entire Ossa community, we offer a connection to one-of-a-kind resources and kickass women with strong and inspiring messages that will help you live your best life.

Ossa is a women’s podcast network. Our mission is to empower women in podcasting through a platform that offers podcasters unprecedented opportunities for growth, networking, and income.

My co-host is male. Can we still be members of the Ossa network?

Yes! We welcome podcasters of all sex and gender identities to be part of the Ossa network. Our one request is that one or more of your hosts/producers identifies as female.

What is the correct way to say “Ossa”, and what does it mean?

In Greek mythology, the name Ossa [pronounced Ah-sa] was a nickname for Pheme, a goddess of communication and a messenger for Zeus. We chose the name “Ossa” as a symbol of powerful female energy and communication, which we believe is the perfect representation of our company.

How do podcasters apply to join Ossa?

Go to joinossa.com. Submit your application with information about your podcast, your audience, and the type of advertisers you’d like to work with. If your application is approved, you will be notified via email and you will be connected to our membership network. Your show will be added to our ad booking platform and you will become part of our network of podcasts from which advertisers can choose to submit ad booking requests.

How much does it cost to join Ossa?

Ossa membership is FREE and non-exclusive. There is no cost to apply to become a member of Ossa and we do not charge any membership fees. You can still belong to other networks as long as your other networks are non-exclusive as well. Our platform makes money through advertising and ad bookings, not by charging our members out-of-pocket fees to be part of our network.

How do advertisers find my podcast on Ossa?

Advertisers enter their preferred criteria into the Ossa search platform in order to be matched with the podcasts on our network that are the best fit for their budget and target audience. The advertiser will choose the show they feel is the best fit for their messaging. If an advertiser wants to work with you, you will receive an instant booking request through our platform in your email. You can choose whether you’d like to accept, revise, or deny the booking request.

Does Ossa offer any additional opportunities to promote and/or monetize my podcast besides ad bookings?

Yes! We also offer many opportunities to be featured on Ossa’s website and/or social media, which reaches an audience of over 1.2 million people. You may be featured in an interview or podcast/company profile, or you may be asked to submit a piece of advice or a quote for a story on a particular topic that will be published on the site. Additionally, your podcast might be included on a list of our recommended shows.

You can also provide value to advertisers by promoting their products on your social media, in addition to (or instead of) featuring their ads on your podcast.

Do I have to partner with any company that wants to advertise with my show?

No — we give our podcasters complete control over which advertisers they would like to work with.

I already belong to another podcast network. Can I still join Ossa?

Ossa membership is non-exclusive, which means that you are free to work with other networks in addition to Ossa! (Just make sure your other networks don’t have an exclusivity clause.)

When do podcasters receive payment for ad campaigns?

We always advocate for the best interest of the podcasters on our network by requesting pre-payment from advertisers booking on Ossa. In that case, you would receive payment immediately after the ad campaign is completed. However, some advertisers (especially larger agencies) have a standardized 30-60 day payment window after the campaign. The date you receive payment is ultimately determined by each individual advertiser, but in the unlikely scenario that you are not paid by the advertiser within the agreed-upon time frame, we are happy to step in and help you resolve the issue.

Can I cancel my Ossa membership at any time?

Yes, you can cancel your membership at any time by emailing support@ossacollective.com.
