What inspired you to start your podcast? 

Wanting to learn and wanting to share my perspective on nonprofits after 30+ years in the field

Tell us more about your work/life outside of your podcast.

mom, wife, grandmother, sister (including sister to a sibling with special needs), reader, love to swim, kayak, bike, listening to podcasts.

What is your show’s USP?

Providing insights into how nonprofit leaders and staff can make their organizations more effective.

What is one of the greatest challenges you have personally faced with your podcast?

Getting started!

What was one of your favorite episodes you’ve ever done? Why does it stand out?

Episode. 58 with Deneisha Thompson – really juicy conversation about organization culture

What is one thing you have accomplished with your podcast thus far that you are most proud of? 

Just published my 60th episode. Been consistent over 2.5 years. Doing “highlights” topical episodes which weave together snippets from previous episodes

What is one major milestone that you would like to accomplish through your podcast in the next year? 

Interested in finding a regular but occasional co-host for conversations on trends in the nonprofit sector.

What is a trend or development in the podcast industry that you foresee happening in the next few years?

Growing listenership

Can you tell us about a time when you took a huge risk/did something you were scared to do, and it totally paid off?

Launching my consulting practice.

Are there any great podcast-related resources you love that you would like to share?

Ossa community has been great – especially the Academy you offered last summer. Also the ShePodcasts community – looking forward to attending the conference this spring!

How do you feel you’re making a positive impact and generating change through your podcast? 

My podcast is for people in organizations designed for positive social impact and change. I help them get out their own way and run their organizations better so that they can achieve their mission more effectively.
